Is Georgetown XL in the same league as?

I have found three gas 2016 motorhome floorplans that I really like. The Forest River Georgetown XL, Newmar Canyon Star and Tiffin Allegro. Are all three of these comparable in quality? They are all fairly close in MSRP.

For the record I own a Canyon Star. When shopping for my rig I looked at all three rigs you mentioned, I would put Tiffin and Newmar on the same league. I found the Georgetown XL a lesser quality rig. That was confirmed by my inspection and by other ratings also.

I was just opposit, after looking at the Tiffin and the Newmar, I felt the Georgetown XL was a notch above. Different strokes for different folks. It's like the Chevy, Ford argument. Love our Georgetown XL 377TS. Real ceramic tile floor, larger 3 door refrig, fiberglass roof ect.

Hi SWDan,

Thank you for your reply and I must say the fit and finish of the Newmar and Tiffin looked better. I just thought maybe it was just the Georgetown XL I was looking at.

I also found the one and a half bath floorpan of Georgetown and Canyon Star have two Black water stations and the Tiffin has one! Dumping two Black water stations is double the work right? Or do they tie in somehow?

Hi George,

Its unfortunate that the Georgetown XL I was in had some interior items that needed attention. When I mentioned it the the salesman he said it would be taken care of after the sale.

I'm sure thats so, but it made the coach look undone somehow. My wife and I didn't appreciate the look, its like walking into a dirty house.

For what its worth my rating would be Newmar first, then Tiffin, then Georgetown.

If you spend any time on these RV Forums it won't take long to notice that folks that own Tiffin and Newmar are generally very satisfied. Folks who own most other brands not so much. Winnebago also seems to be a winner. I have never owned any of them so what I say is based only on what I've seen here. Most people come to the forums with a problem so your experience may be different.

FWIW I have not seen a Tiffin but I have also not seen a tiffin floor plan I liked as well as Newmar. Then I found Georgetown as a Newmar lite. The problem is they do not have the 30 ft range gasser I am looking for.

FWIW2 I am less impressed by added glitz like ceramic floor tile than I am with a solid chassis with a good road reputation. I would be interested in any other units comparable to a Baystar/Baystar sport.

FWIW Since 2010, they all use the same Ford F- Series chassis.

we've previously owned a FR GeorgetownXL360DS for several months and enjoyed the fit, finish, and storage, especially the 'woodplank' tile floors and dark, quality cabinetry. The only reason we moved to our Palazzo is for the bunkhouse and diesel, tho I wish I could have the best of both(which may be the Newmar!)

Does the double black water tank on the Newmar and Georgetown make any difference? From a video I just saw it requires draining each tank individually. The Tiffin just has one black tank.
