Is there a new bunkhouse model available with a Cummins ISL?

In February we purchased a '08 Itasca Ellipse 40WD. It's in great shape and has only 13k miles on it (last 4k by us). We've done a few trips and are figuring out RV-ing in general. It's our first motorhome.

Anyway, with our two children, either we have to put them in the bedroom for us to hang out in the living area, or we have to sneak through the living area to hang out outside when they're asleep. Not too convenient.

I've been searching for a bunkhouse model like the Berkshire 38A or the Winnebago Forza 38R, but want something with the quality of a Dutch Star or Allegro Bus. I have a 10k trailer and a 7500lb boat to tow, plus a 8k lb Ram 2500 Megacab toad (crazy right?). It seems the ISB 6.7 will be overmatched by what I'm asking the coach to do.

Any suggestions?

Not sure how far off you want to go from "Dutch Star level" but the Discovery 40G is nice. Has a Bunk room in the middle that can be closed off from the rest of the coach.

We looked at the Fleetwoods and the Tiffin. Tiffin won hands down. Allegro Red, 38QBA, Cummins, Bunks, Check it out. Nicely put together rig.

Thanks for the replies! I had no idea there were so many bunkhouse models available. Seems like the manufacturers are realizing that many RV'ers aren't just retired couples and need sleeping areas for kids.

Hi JCleary,

Two other floor plans you may want to give a look-see. Coachman SportsCoach Cross Country 407FW. It has the traditional two bunk setup.

Then they have the 404RB that I for one think is the neatest bunkhouse coach I've seen (can you say neatest). It has a 12' dropdown bunk on the drivers side of the coach that you don't even know is there until you need it! This gives you 100% use of your coach and bunks when you want them. It also has a huge master bath and upfront living area so the driver and passenger seat become part of the seating area!

Take a look and let us know what you think? I found it very impressive!

Here's a link to the floor plan page.
