Is this a 'new' idea? 2 Stakes and a Bungee Cord...

We are 'new Rv'ers and recently (right now) camped where the waste water hose inlet didn't have threads to screw in our 'cool' multi-step, threaded elbow...only our 4th time, so I looked around and saw folks had the end of their hoses stuffed in with a stick or a rag so it stayed in place. I was looking for something to put on top of it to weight it down before thinking this...I found in my stash some tent stakes and bungee cords - here's some pictures of how I secured it...if you're interested...we're having fun while getting frustrated with all we have to learn

Use caution driving stakes around the utilities. There may be sewer or water pipers, wiring conduit, etc in the area. Some RV parks specifically state to not drive in stakes.

Not a utilitie in sight, just a sewer line. Still a good idea !

actually hooking up your sewer hose every time is totally not required. in fact, if you have loaded in your chemicals and put an inch or two of flushed water in the bottom you are good to go for a long time if you don't have a really bad case of montezuma's revenge (even then the chems can handle it). i never empty the black tank until its three-quarters full. the sloshing effect of driving keeps the sensors clean and 'seasons' the tank they way it shud be. dont put yourself thru the rigors of hooking it up and all of the stuff you have done. let it fill. at 3/4 empty. repeat. its sort of like washing your hair.

one more thing...i am astonished by the paranoia of people who abhor having s..t on board. think about it this way. every person in your coach is totin' a few pounds of unprocessed dung in their intestinal tract. and, god forbid, if they break a smidgeon of wind during the trip the smell will be pure methane as opposed to the chemically treated s..t in your black tank. there is a lot more stuff in you and your passenger's large and small intestines than there is in your black tank. and they have to grunt and groan to expel it. all you have to do is open the valve on a tank. lastly, dumping it in your yard will repel critters and fertilize your grass. just do it!

I use a hose buddy most of the time but.. You have given me a good idea

Let's just say 'no'...I have enough of that in my life without driving around with gallons more...that said...I had a good laugh...I'm hopeful that my neihbors respect the fact I empty the waste at the campsites I visit vs my yard...you can't be serious? Have a good time...

Had a camper next to me once that had his sewer connection loose with a big hole on top. Of corse he was gone for the day when the afternoon breeze came my way. I went into my RV and grabbed a large zip lock bag and filled it 3/4 with water and plopped it on his connector. Problem solved!
He probably thinks to this day there is a sewer fairy.

I guess i shud have clarified one thing. My yard encompasses 190 acres. very isolated. very remote. i do not live in urban america. with all of the llamas, mules, horses, goats, pigeons and pigs i have, the little bit of s..t i dump from my airstream is completely irrelevant. with all of my animals friends help i got 90 lb watermelons this year not to mention five foot tall horseweed. if you live in a subdivision of quarter acre lots it may be different. but in all honesty it isn't. just go ahead and dump it in the yard. your neighbors will understand that their application of manure is far worse. organic applies to humans too.
