is this a steer tire?? It is separation in the cords in the sidewall of the tire. And it's letting air to the outer part of the sidewall! And YES it can and will blow out.

I figured. Guess we're stuck here for the night. Who will have RV tires?

double what they all said.
immediately if not sooner. don't let the tire shop talk you into driving it down there. that's what we call a tire aneurism. you already have a hole on the inside, it's only the outside tire wall that hasn't exploded yet.

spec24, as everyone else has said don't drive with this tire. Goodyear should replace this tire with little or no charge. This is a defect in the tire and should be covered under warranty.

Called Ford. They're sending someone out. I'll call Goodyear as well.

That's CLEARLY a tire DEFECT! Don't settle for anything except a free replacement!

Spec, if you haven't invested in a roadside assistance program (Coach-net, Good Sam, Allstate RoadHelp, etc.) I suggest you do so ASAP. It is cheap insurance for roadside help. I hope you can get that taken care of ASAP. Good on you for being observant!

First trip out. Tires with less than 15k miles on them and 3 years old. Is this what to expect all the time? Driving one of these things with the constant fear of a tire blowing? This was my worst fear. Weighed, checked tires, psi adjusted, and it seems I just missed the jaws of disaster.

Hey. I'm sorry you are having problems your first time out. Hopefully all will be resolved and soon you will be an old hand at this stuff. Believe me, ALL new RVers are nervous and anxious for the first few trips. We suffered "blowout anxiety" too and soon bought a TPMS system and made sure our roadside assistance coverage is paid up.

Try not to get discouraged. You'll get in the groove soon and get the "feel" of your coach. You will begin to know when something is not as it should be. You're off to a GOOD start by being vigilant and checking things! This will be a great campfire story in a year or two.
