Is this normal?

I have read through my manual and searched the forum but the answer is not evident to me. The charge light on my RC7 panel blinks about 4 times per second whenever the coach is connected to shore power. The manual says this indicates float charging but doesn't say if this is a normal condition. If the control panel weren't in the bedroom, I probably wouldn't worry about it but when the room is dark, that blinking is pretty bright.

I'm not familiar with your particular unit, but yes, having a three stage charger go into "float" mode is normal once the batteries have been fully charged via "bulk" and "accept" modes.

It does stink though that they build a flashing light into the bedroom.

We have the RC7 panel w/o the GS in our coach and when the panel display is lit, the charge light blinks slowly when the batteries show fully charged. There should also be instructions in the manual for the panel where the panel display can be programmed to turn completely off after a few minutes. I just press the settings button to turn it back on.

Wow, what a poor place to place a panel that does that. I would put some electric tape over the LED lights. It looks like the readout tells you the same information anyway.

Of course it looks like JC2 has a slightly better solution....

In the setup of your RC7GS remote go to RC7 setup. There are 3 options Last Key, Power Saver, and Rolling Display. Select Power Saver, this will shut down screen after 5 minutes, it will stay off until any button is pushed or there is an error
