Is this too many miles?

Looking at a 2005 adventurer 33v, workhorse chassis, one owner, maintenance records with 76,500 miles. Is that too many miles to spend $55,000 on?

I'm not sure what the industry estimate is on miles per year for an RV.
Sounds like to me the prev owners were full timers.
Is the RV for sale at a dealer or private party?
Are there any service records available for both chassis and box?

Usually seems to be around 5 to 7,000 miles per year. We haven't come even close to that due to the DW's health.

In my opinion yes. Have them knock $12,000 off the price or keep looking. That RV has the potential to go 200,000 miles with proper maintenance however.

If it's at a dealer they have a margin to come down.

FWIW - maybe full time but just as likely a family who had long vacations or recently retired and spent a lot of time touring. Full timers I've run across usually go slower longer as they are not in a hurry. High milage goes to the gotta get there now folks.

Tough call, I am of the opinion that is it probably worse for it to sit continually and have very low miles, than to have a lot of highway miles. Likely with those miles lots of maintenance was done, as opposed to the ones that sit for months at a time and get little maintenance due to low miles.

That said, the price seems high for that year in light of the miles.

You can never do enough background checking or price shopping in my opinion....

I drove my 2003 Workhorse for 98,600 miles before selling it at PPL, so the mileage doesn't worry me, there are lots of Workhorse chassis out there with over 100K on the ODO.......but IMO, that is WAAY too much $$$ for a 15 model year old 33' WBGO gasser.

I did have a dealer once say to me he didn't want trades that were just sitting because they tend to break through non-use. I agree the price may be a bit high, but that is where good negotiation comes in. Shop around, I know I have seen some cherry deals out there lately, if this one turns out to be your number one choice, then work the dealer down, I haven't seen units "flying off the lot" in my area. IMHO

Not to pick at nits but it is only 9 years old. I do agree with your assessment though of MH longevity.

Years ago I almost bought a class A that was 10 years old and only had 8000 miles on it. I didn't because it looked like someone lived in it. Looked good on the outside, but the inside was ruff.
