Itasca Meridian Noisey Water

Our 2005 Meridian has a loud humming noise that sounds like it is coming from the hot water heater when we run the faucets or flush. Could it be some kind of vacuum break problem? I have drained the hot water tank and flushed it and refilled it. No help.

We get a noise like that when the water heater is filled after having been drained. My previous coach did it too. The noise stops when the water gets full. Nothing to worry about.

If you're getting the sound when running COLD water too, then it's the check valve at the city water hook up. Ours does the same thing, but I'll just let it hum and look at it as a warning sound in case I have a water line break/leak.

I got the same hum after replacing the Swan quick fill valve for the city water. Agree it's the check valve don't know what to do. Call Swan in Oregon if it bothers you that much

We had the same problem with our 2008 Sightseer last year. Ours was easy to diagnose and repair. Just zero in on which check valve is noisy by ear or touch (I could feel the vibration) and replace it. Ours was right next to the water heater also.
