The vehicle will be offered in 33-foot and 38-foot lengths with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) up to 26,000 pounds.

It’s why Winnebago says that the vehicle is best suited “for urban and semi-urban short range commercial applications like mobile medical clinics, bloodmobiles, mobile classrooms and mobile outreach vehicles.”

Nonetheless, all-electric powertrains are rapidly coming to increasingly bigger vehicles and motorhomes are expected to be electrified soon too.

I think it would be more practical to make a hybrid motorhome. That is something that might sell on a widespread basis. I have a 2011 Lincoln MKZ hybrid that get 37 mpg, fabulous performance, and the drivetrain technology is amazing. It has brake regeneration. That could be done with an RV. In a motorhome, that would mean a somewhat smaller diesel, along with an electric motor. The size of the battery would need to be quite large though, and just like in the car, it cuts into storage capacity. But if you could gain even 2 mpg in a big motorhome that would add up real quick.

Battery technology is moving at a rapid pace, by 2020 this battery will be in EV's, they can charge to 90 percent in 15 minutes and add up to 30 percent more in range..

Another game changer, 2025 will be the year of EV's taking over the world..

Trash your ICE motorhome..

I think she hit it when she mentioned other uses than as an RV. There is a lot of interest around the world in banning gas or diesel powered vehicles in large cities. This would cover a lot of commercial uses.

Electric motorhomes are coming: a new RV powered by solar panels and 91 kWh battery pack

Now a new prototype of an actual full-size electric motorhome shows that it’s possible.

Considering how risk adverse coach builders are they won't touch an electric chassis in a class A RV configuration until the the trucking industry has worked out both rapid recharging infrastructure, coast to coast break down support, AND both are mature enough to support commercial and consumer vehicles. Owners don't care if the chassis was made by XYZ Corporation if the rig leaves them stranded for a week or takes hours to recharge even with camp ground 50 amp power. All they will see is the badge on the side of the coach.

Winnebago has offer the commercial shell configuration for the past few years but has yet to configure it for recreational usage. Claim this is an indicator that a consumer grade electric powered coach is just a few years away based on technology that doesn't yet exists, hasn't been proven or the lack of any plans concerning the refueling infrastructure is a bit much. I'm still waiting to see what will be used to push 100,000 watts of electrical power into a storage medium in less that 15 minutes.

Yup. That means more gas for those of us who prefer it. Still looking for the super deep cycle batteries for the house.

You know, that might actually help keep the cost down. I know solar panels aren't cheap but considering the cost of one of those fancy full body paint jobs, it might actually be cheaper!
