Question J Brackets for Waste Tanks

Although I'm an original owner the Wizard, it has been out of my sole possession from 2007 to 2015, so maintenance history is a bit sketchy :-( I

Anyway on my last trip to Moab, UT, I discovered a water leak (fresh water*thank the Lord) in the water service bay. Upon inspection it appeared a water line connection had been pitched by lateral movement of the waste tanks (grey/black). Reason was due to the J brackets on the tanks were not being properly installed to metal frame work of this particular bay.

Many blessings that my son and gf were able to properly attach the remaining one found dangling from the black tank; and reinforce the ones on the grey tank. But upon further inspection it appears there should be at least one, if not two, more of these J brackets added to the black tank.

I contacted Monaco, but my 2004 Monaco Cayman RV year is not part of their technical records. I did find one that might work on the Sundowner web page and have asked for schematics (size) of it, but they have not gotten back to me. I've done a number of web searches with no results.

So outside of fabricating these brackets...does anyone have any ideas where I can buy these?

I'd think it would be far easier to fabricate brackets than trying to track down the original source. If you're not able to DIY, you could have them made from one of the ones present or made from scratch.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I agree with Bob. You will be better off to just remove one of the brackets and go to a machine shop to have it duplicated. I wouldn't think it would be too expensive.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thank you...just thought maybe I'm missing something or calling it by the incorrect parts name.

Ok...I'll have a couple fabricated.
