Jacks down first or air bags lowered first
Been sitting in my MH pondering something I might have read about leveling and air bags so here is my question. Since I will pull it out of the barn after a long winters nap, I got to wondering. On a DP with air ride, in which order should the following be performed:
(A) Level coach then let air out of air bags
(B) Let air out of air bags then level coach
(C) It really does not matter
(D) Quit worrying about the small stuff and don't mess with the air bags
Lets see how many worms get out of the can on this one and thanks in advance.

What does your owners manual or the manufacturers support people say? That's the only thing you should worry about.

On my HWH system, when I select "Auto-Level", it dumps the air bags first, then activates the jacks to level.
If the air bags are inflated, your chassis is actually higher from the ground at all 4 corners. So the jacks have to extend further just to touch the ground before leveling.
This would reduce the range of the jacks to bring the coach into level.

I drain the air before putting the jacks down. Otherwise, it would be kind of pointless to air down with the jacks down. The coach wouldnt go lower.

X2 on Mr D's advice. This also ties into how and when to extend the slides.
The person who designed your coach is the only one you should take advice from.

Thanks all, I ALWAYS jack before sliding out. I will have to check the auto leveler, It may automatically dump the air bags before the leveling process.

I know what the book says, but I either leave the bags inflated or drop them then level with the jacks before putting slides out. Any other way can cause a slight twist in the chassis and may cause your slides to bind.
As an example when we're traveling and only stop at a WM or rest area for the night, we may put one or two slides out and never drop the air. MUCH quicker to get going in the early hours.

My 2007 HR manual says to make sure the air bags are fully inflated prior to moving the slides in or out. After they are extended dump the bags and level

Do what the manual says...mine gave me an acronym:
BALS:
-Brakes
-Air, dump
-Level, jacks down
-Slides out

Bleed the airbags, level the coach, put out the slides. That has been my routine since buying our first MH four years ago.

I only leveled my MH one time without dumping the air. The result was my coach was way up in the air. I won't make that mistake again.
