Jayco Alante Generator issue

I am currently ridng in my 2016 Jayco at the end of a Fl to Wscomsin trip. It has been been in the 90s the whole trip. The Onan 4000 a generator stops working at 90. So we can get ac and tv (kids and dogs in back of coach) in the morning but as soon as the air temp hits 90 it shuts down until we can cool it off. That means hoping for clouds and rain!!!! Once it is cool outside the generator runs with no issues.

As a note I had the generator serviced just before the trip and it only has 82 hours on it

A Call to Jayco revealed they are aware of the problem and have no fix except to take the bin door off to allow more air flow. We have done that which has led to people flagging us down to tell us the bin is open!

Since I live in Florida. This makes the coach useless for travel with anyone in the back most of the year!!!!

Anyone have this same issue or better yet a possible solution?

A remote secondary radiator with electric fan? Chech out the hot rod / racing shops on line. All sizes of trick radiators.

Thanks. I am not sure what that is but I will look into it. We think it may be a vapor lock issue and Jayco may have to reroute the fuel lines.

Some other manufacturers have had this problem. Some of the fixes were cutting openings in the door, fan in the generator compartment, reroute the gas lines and insulating them.

On a former coach...simply using 15W40 oil in the generator crankcase, (as specified in the Onan Operator's Manual for hot weather operation), cured that problem.
