just bought our first RV. not a clue on winterizing. hrlp? lol!

it is an 04 hurricane 30Q.

black and grey water has been evacuated. however i still have fresh water. i clueless on what to do, lol! however i did get the owners manual online just yesterday. I plan on reading it. I am not sure, but will find out today if it covers winterizing all of the plumbing. not even sure how to "blow out" the lines?

any help is greatly appreciated.

i bought 2 gallons of the RV anitfreeze, reading other threads looks like i may need a little bit more.

You find the drain line or valve, and drain the water out.

I would also just build an adapter to hook and air line to the city water connection so you can blow lines out and not worry about antifreeze.

Two lines of thought. Blow out or anti-freeze. I am in western Oregon and don't have the hard winter you do but I am the " blow it out" crowd but we do use our MH year around.
If you have access to an air compressor get one of these Camco 36153 RV Brass Blow Out Plug : Amazon.com : Automotive. You can get them at any RV Store. Drain the FW tank and HW tank. Hook the air up using about 35-40 pounds pressure. Open a hot faucet till you get air. Turn on the cold till you get air. Continue at all faucets till no water comes out. I do mine about three times. Open the toilet flush valve and do the same. Open the low point drains and let them blow.

When you are done leave all the valves open. My only concern is the toilet valve but I never have had a problem. I got a stick cut to the right length to prop it open in the fill mode.

When you are ready to use just add water.

A couple more thoughts, don't forget the outside shower (if you have one) or the clothes washer. Even if you don't have a washer, the rig might be plumbed for one.

Use antifreeze in all the drain traps.

Drain the water heater, leave the plug out and disconnect the red wire. If the water heater accidently gets turned on, it won't burn out the electric heating element.

Depending on location, it might also be a good idea to go through the pantry, bathroom, etc. and make sure you haven't left anything stashed that might freeze and leak. Bottled water, for example. Some meds.

I also blow it out but you have to watch out if you have a ice maker. You need to take special care to get the water out of the valve at the back of the freezer or it will crack.

We have a 1995 35 ft Bounder that is parked outside in Newfoundland from mid Oct to mid May. I winterize by opening all the drains and taps, when everything stops dripping, close the drains, put 4 gallons of rv antifreeze in the fresh water tank and turn on the pump until undiluted antifreeze comes from the taps,toilet, shower, etc. By running enough through the system fills the sink traps and toilet.
A solar panel on the roof and an other in the front window attached to the starting battery keeps the batteries up with the disconnect switches off.
This has worked for me for quite a few years

Further to above, don't forget the HW tank, drain it and close the bypass valve so it don' get filled with antifreeze

ummm what if i did run antifreeze through it, not knowing i was supposed to close the bypass valve? did i ruin it or should i run water back through the system?

No you just used a whole lot more AF than you needed to.
