Just Bought our first RV today

DOnt really know what we are doing just yet. just jumped right in and grabbed what looked to be a deal. Could be a mess we dont know.

2011, Thor Serrano 33a, DP, 27k miles, 227 hours on gen, everything seems good. we did buy extended 3 year 36k for an additional 7k....59+7=66k before tax....Seems like a good price....From a dealer

So any links to known problems with this year/model. any feedback would greatly be appreciated as we havent picked it up yet...

ALso the couch that normally comes with it seems to have been replaced with some funky chairs. How would I go about finding the original couch/foldout bed? and im guessing these things come in a way that can be disassembled and reassembled?

We are also greener then green. dont know anything about RVing. Northern California. Anything you think would be of value to us please share. we will probably pick it up next monday(7 days) and be heading out for our first trip in two weeks.....

Thanks much for feedback

Congrats on the new RV. There are a few places that have couches and such. Flexsteel makes a lot and probably has something to fit your tastes.

As far as Nor-Cal goes, campgroundreviews.com has a lot of good info and can help.

Enjoy the new coach.

Which dealership did you buy it from?

Here is thread you should look at and ask question in. It id the Thor thread here

Make sure you get ALL of the maintenance records and manuals. Check last time oil was changed (coach and generator).

I would also suggest that before you take it "out on the road" you camp for a night or two in your driveway to see what may need attention before heading out.

Also make sure you have road side assistance insurance of some kind.

Good luck and enjoy the adventure.

I'm told that's a Fred. FRont Engine Diesel.

Welcome to the fray. My wife and I got into RVing after I retired, so I'm late to the game as well. Enjoying it.

Congratulations on the new home on wheels! Just do an online search for rv furniture and you will see many options. We replaced a dinette in our Minnie trailer with a Flexsteel Easy Bed sofa and it was really, really nice....with a price to match. Our Newmar was just purchased a couple of months ago, but I can see replacing one of the courches with a couple of nice chairs in the next year or so.
I suggest that you do some traveling in the new rig and spend enough time in it so that you get a really good idea of what you need to do to make it what you want.

If you don't like the furniture as a general rule I would recommend against replacing with something original. Typically RV furniture is crappy and way over priced. If you are looking for recliners, look for wall hugging type. For sofas sectional types that connect are easier to get in the door. Make sure that backs come off anything you get so it will fit in the door. I suggest measuring the potential new furniture before buying, not after.

Honestly I cant wait to get on the road and see what is around us. We own an HVAC business so summer will only be weekends out but spring and fall we should be able to get away for a week here and there.

Thanks for responding. Pictures are a quick way to sell my wife on an excursion...
