Just for fun: Headlights from smaller vehicles to RV..

2005 Ford F250.

From Ford F150.

Chevy Silverado

I suppose you grab a new pair, have fun fiber glassing and get a facelift.

Just out of curiosity. Has any one done a face lift on an RV?

The headlights on my Sportscoach came from a 2001 Honda Accord. Here is my update:

So i also need to replace mine but don't want to use the originals as shown below, anyone recognize these and what they originally came on? I know besides the '05-'06 Damon Astoria they also were used on the '04-'05 Holiday Rambler Navigators and maybe others.

Well, what I had to do was drive around for a few months before I finally spotted a car with matching headlights. There were no identifying marks that I could find on my originals.

Price out a set of new ones for a quick heart attack. The Lincoln lights are now over ten years old so you should be able to find some in salvage yard. Post up some before and after pictures for us when you are done and good luck.

Well not too bad so far, i've found them on eBay for as little as $65 each. That being said the average is about $120 each, still not bad.

I have a pair of like new LS headlights in my attic. Took them off my wife's LS years ago. (Put on some Japanese market ones.)

I'll pull them out and post a picture or two.

That is from 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

LOL funny how RV manufacturers recycle old stocks as new in new model RVs. Charges arms and legs for the replacements.

Part of the reason why I started this thread.

It also seems like a robbery that some of the repair estimates I have seen in RV repair facilities. Worse than just small car repair facilities.

Problem with some (maybe most or all) is that they are usually Chinese knockoffs of the real lights. Might even carry the DOT certification numbers, but will not be as good a quality and are illegal to use on the highway. There were lots of problems along this line some years ago and even the RV manufacturers got caught up in it by buying from the low bidder.
I don't know of any way, other than buying direct from the OEM, of detecting the fakes as they even produce look alike or identical boxes.

I can understand from a company's perspective to drive the cost of the manufacturing down to increase the profit margin but taking advantage of folks who are NOT aware which will make them spend hundreds and thousands of dollars for something that really shouldn't and DON'T cost as much, that seems unethical.

I am just trying to create an awareness amongst RVers that something that RV dealers may charge a lot of money but it can be had a cheaper rate.

In terms of Chinese knock offs.... that is whole another debate. Illegal on the road?? Are you sure you are buying OEM originals from the dealers? The best way to detect this disparity between your OEM and aftermarket, it would to become educated and be able to tell if something is different or not from the light you have.

At the end of the day, I could really careless if it is OEM or not specially if it comes down to lighting and that it can be aimed so that it lights up the road and does NOT bother the oncoming traffic and save $$.
