Key On Signal issue on a Tuscany 2007 - 4055-

I have a 2007 Tuscany 4055 40 Ft Diesel Pusher. I have been having a problem resolving a fuse that keeps blowing out as soon as I turn on the ignition. It is a 10 amp fuse labeled “Key On Signal”. Tracing the wire is next to impossible because everything is in a large plastic casing. I called Thor to get some info on what this fuse does and to get a wiring diagram. They were unable to help me. Largely because the MH was built by Damon and now that Thor has taken them over, they do not have the detailed wiring diagrams to trace this out.

Despite this blown fuse, the motorhome works fine, and I cannot locate any components that are not working.

So my questions are: Has anyone had issues like this? Does anyone have access to a detailed wiring diagram? Any ideas what I should be doing?

obviously you have not checked everywhere yet for the short. Jut off of the top of my head are a couple of things to check you might not have thought about. Cigarette plug type power outlets that work off of the key. Also if you have a 7 pin trailer connection one of the outputs of that is a 12 volt hot that is controlled by the key.

Thanks for your reply gemini5362. Cigarette lighter/accessory plugs both working with or without the ignition switched on. Trailer harness 12 volt working as well.

Spoke to a local RV dealer, he said on many coaches the Key On Signal is designed to prevent slideouts and other accessories from being deployed while the motor is running.

I will test this out on the weekend.

you may also check the drivers...flexible map light
mine had a short in it and it would blow the fuse for the winegard ant, radio, step, and a few other dumb things like floor lights.

the relay your looking for is also in the bay right under the drivers seat,
i have a few diagrams from damon
maybe they will help
