Has anyone drived their 43 Foot coach to the Keys? How did it go?

Key West is quite tight if you venture off the main roadways.

I prefer to stay in the Middle Keys and, if needed, take the Toad down to the Keys.

Less expensive also! My favorite park is in Grassy Key

We go all the way down to Key West in our 39'er. Stay at Boyd's, which is really close to Key West and quite tight. Still, they always seem to have the really long guys there. You can always stay at Blue Water Key, which is beautiful, quite expensive, and has sites that will swallow up your 43'er. Of course, you're quite a bit farther from the party.

Highway is no problem and there are campgrounds for all sizes. We spent the last two winters on Key West and plan to go next year. Our mh is a little over 41' but when you add the motorcycle lift call it 45'. Then there's the toad.

Spend a night on the way in at the casino. Free parking, $9.95 steak & lobster dinner and a direct five mile or so drive to the overseas highway.

The only RV parks actually on the island of Key West are on Navy property. Well, there is a very small one about in the center of the island, but always full of permanent units, the longest of which appears to be <30'. Previous recommendations you received are quite good.

I stayed at Boyds campground on Stock Island in key west in my 44ft MH last month. Campground is tight but managed with no problems. Nice people and clean place. Too far to walk into town but I had the towed vehicle. I think there is a bus stop outside the entrance.

We have stayed at the KOA, on Sugarloaf Key. Stayed for the last 4 years, right on the beach. They have music on the weekend, and we love when Lou Renshaw (his wife is June) sings. Mile marker is 20 and there is a great restaurant across the highway "Mango Mama's. We are Key West'ed out and are staying further North this year for two weeks, again right on the water. Drive thru Blue Water RV for a look at how the upscale live. It is only $150 / nite, no discount for week or month stays. It is beautiful tho'. South of the KOA about 5-10 miles (?) There is a bus that stops along the highway that you can take to Key West.

RESWANN: Even if you did not want to take your toad into KeyWest...you can easily manage finding a reasonable RV park in the upper Keys and there is a city bus that comes by almost every hour that you can ride...once it drops you off downtown...foot traffic or moped rental. My wife and I use Marathon Key as our usual base station....and we bicycle into Key West....and then back....
If you are lucky there are three very sweetly placed Fl State Parks that have RV slips you can rent for $39 per nite....Hondo Key I think is the closest you can get to Key West and you have to drive or bus it in. But we have that love of bicycling and the bike paths and shoulders offer us a good feeling of security....at least in the day.

Last time went on off season and got in to the KOA very nice campground plenty of room for the big boys as we have a 37 foot plus pull an 18 foot trailer with trike hinding inside. We stayed hooked to trailer on the site with room to spare with a pull threw site. You will love the lizards every where had one who waited for us every morning for breakfast. He was around 4 and 1/2 feet long he was one of the bigger ones. They travel threw the campground like they own it. It is only about a twenty minute ride into town. They also have boats to rent in campground if you fish or scuba dive.

No problem, we go there all the time in our 43' MH. In fact, will be heading there Sunday for the holidays. Blue Water, Boyd's , El Mar and Geiger Ley are near to KW and will fit you.

Just got back from a week in Key West, stayed at Bluewater Key Rv Resort mile marker 14.5, 10 minutes from Key West. Very nice, sites on water, size isn't an issue.

We stayed at the KOA on Sugarloaf Key and ate at Mango Mamma's too. To me, the KOA site was just like camping in the middle of a big gravel parking lot. I guess we didn't reserve soon enough.
