I guess it depends on the user. We never eat out when in the RV. I am a cook and spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

6 inches short in width compared to a king mattress is nothing compared to 13 feet of countertop in an RV. well at least in my book.

1) When you said, "Found out they made an Olympic Queen mattress" who are they?

2) Also, what thicknesses have you found these 66" mattresses come in? We can't go anymore than 9" thick + bedding stuff or it won't go under the cabinets when we retract the slides.

3) Are they inner spring, memory foam or what? Would like some links please.

4) And finally, what size sheets do you buy to fit this odd queen size? Fitted, not fitted or what?

Here is my old thread about a new mattress. There were lots of helpful links to custom and some olympic queen mattresses as well. I ended up buying a cal king and cutting it down. I posted some pics earlier in this thread too.

We bought our Challenger last summer. DW had a list of must haves, and a King was first on the list. We also love the bath and a half. While Thor isn’t hig end, we got a new coach for a price we were willing to pay, with all the features we wanted, so we are very happy.

The mattress was awful, though! DW bought a memory foam topper online, and we used a 2x4 and a sharp knife to cut it to fit. With the fitted sheet in place, it’s like it was made that way.

Here’s the link to what I bought.
LUCID 10 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress - Dual-Layered - CertiPUR-US Certified - 25-Year Warranty - Olympic Queen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0088YUXLG?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

It’s as comfortable as my king size memory foam that I paid 4 times the price. I think you can find them as thin as 8”. We use king size sheets along with these to pull up the slack.
