Knoxville Camping World Info

I need to have a base plate & taillight wiring put on a Ram 1500, thinking of going to Knoxville Camping World, I read some reviews & 1/2 are negative.
Has anybody had any experience with them?

I had a local auto repair shop(owner drove a MH) install the base-plate, wire the towed and coach for towing, everything. They charged me about $150 less than CW of Indianapolis quoted; best part_ the auto repair shop did it in one day, CW said they needed the coach and car for 2 weeks. I bought the tow-bar, base-plate, etc at CW.
Moral, check around.

I haven't been to that specific CW but the ones I have (or my brother has) have been disappointing. Knoxville CW may be ok but sadly, they're probably in the minority.

Only experience I had was when I took Norcold in for the recall.

Naturally they installed the black box without a problem. I was waiting for the rig so I got called to the front desk and the service manager had the PC board out of the refrigerator and pointed out that one of the large resistors was getting hot as the resistor & board were a darker brown. I approved the request to change, cost me ~+$200. I guess it was good that they pointed this out but whether the board was really going to fail who knows.

I did get a quote for them to install my Blue Ox bar on my Jeep, Yikes it was expensive.

I got on line and looked at the Blue Ox information, they have very good instructions on how to install. I decided to try myself. Basically you have to remove all the front bumper and grill. All plastic and they use removable tabs, very easy. Mounting the tow bar was pretty easy, drilled holes after you get it in place and aligned. I took my time, it probably took me ~5 hours. I also installed the Brakemaster air tank an lines with the breakaway and I used the wiring harness for the lights that you drill holes in the light assembly and add the separate bulb. All of this pretty easy, skill level needed ~2 on a scale of 5.

Had a local shop install mine, 3 hours at $40. I wired it myself.
