Was thinking about having new shocks and safetplus installed.

I was all over it until the shop quoted me $500 more for the parts than I could buy online (from the manufacturers themselves, not even discount stores) so that made me pause and ask.. do I really need that?

I asked the shop for a better price on the parts - they told me to order them myself

I would go to a different shop. They were going to gouge your eyes out.

Agreed, but they are a good shop (still getting used to the internet age I think however) and my bus is already there (they changed my mirrors - which was the same case, I obtained myself cause their price was $1000 higher on the parts)

Koni spends a lot of money convincing you their shocks are superior. Michelin the same for their tires. That advertising cost gets added to the product price. You might wan to read this comparison of RV shocks before spending the bucks for a premium price shock.

You should also understand just what a shock does for your coach - it has a lot less effect on the ride & steering than most people think. It's basically a rough road assist.

Why do you think you need a Safe-T-Plus? Or the similar Steer-Safe? I can't imagine a good reason to put one on your Revolution, which has an excellent chassis to begin with.

I was just hoping to cut down on some driver fatigue. I think I'm going to skip it. Maybe I should do solar panels instead.

WHAT!? Not a new SAT TV system?

We just replaced or OEM Bilstiens with Konis and are very happy with the change out. I just got back to "home turf" where I was able to compare the ride on a rather rough rode and was quite pleased with the improvement.

HOWEVER...I think it is very important to understand that any good quality shock replacement will probably make a major improvement to 8+ year old OEMs of similar quality.

Koni FSD shocks $150 @ classicgarage.

Shocks are very important for safe handling. For a Diesel Pusher I think the Koni FSD's are the best. My current MH came with Monroe's and they couldn't control the porpoising on some roads. I installed the Koni FSD's at 12,000 miles and they eliminated the porpoising without adversely effecting the smooth ride.
I installed a TrueCenter unit which is like the Safe-T-Plus but with a trim adjustment. It comes in handy sometimes only because of the trim adjustment. In my situation I wouldn't do it again nor would I have one without the trim adjustment.

i changed koni fsd with koni adjustable, i am convinced koni is no good for heavy rigs. i am going for road king. i have not used safetplus, no comments but i don't think i'll need it. my cost for the koni was $260/pair plus my 30 minutes; for front only.

Yeah shop quoted me 527 PER PAIR, plus labor! i was like.. whooaa...
and 637 for the same safetplus that camping world sells for 494.. i was like ..uhhhhhh nope

hahaha, nah I'm going to save that for my next rv, which I still have no idea what it will be, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen before my next long trip (leaving around august 15th, gone for two months) So for the moment, I'm headed out on a 4000 mile + trip as is.

Not sure what you want to address but I can say from experience that installing Henderson's motion control valves on your air bags can make significant improvement in how your coach drives and handles. I put a set on my previous DP on a FL chassis and it was remarkable. I am installing a set on my CC today even though it handles pretty good.

I have Koni SP3 adjustable shocks on the front of the Allure and that is what I would suggest.

All in all though, it might still be a good idea to change the shocks for something new, regardless of make.

I'll be up near the spartan service center, maybe they could handle some of these things for me, plus check the motor's oil pump, valves and all that.
