Kountry star house batteries die if not being charged 1 day

Hi we just purchased a 2004 KSDP and are very happy with our new home ! She runs perfect has a banks TLC setup and gets great mileage (all things considered) ... it was used so we expected a few issues.
The house batteries die after a day or so if not connected to house power or the generator isn't running ... batteries are good and everything seems to be functioning correctly. Anyone have any suggestions ? Or similar experiences ?

One of the (2)120 outlets in the power connection bay is also dead. Any suggestions ?

Also the solar panel is dead.... any insight into how it's wired or if it can be upgraded would be deeply appreciated.
She has a few other odds and end issues but no big deal ! It's all part of the fun !

Welcome to irv2.
Here is a Brochure and Owners Guide for you.
Below in my signature are links to many more for your Newmar.
In some of the QT's links your will find these to answer your questions.
12V BATTERY SYSTEM ---- Solar panel explained here end of link.
Any time you are using the coach have your battery cut off switch on so Gen, shore power cord will charge all your batteries both house and the two chassis batteries with your Bird System maintaining them.
The house batteries may have been depleated by dealer for moving slides which should only be moved when the coach is plugged in or Gen running, motors for slides need a good clean 12v for motors to operate.
Motors are high torque please be careful and have slides clear behind them because serious injury can result. Here is a slide spec for your coach. More slide info can be found in QT's 1 & 2.
One of the outlets maybe for your heating cord for engine block heater and a switch located in your display area or in bathroom.
Congratulations and welcome to the Newmar family and do join us in the Newmar forum.

Question not answered as we have same problem with our MH. Battery's not above 11.6 to start generator and we are not near any shore power. Is this a converter problem?

Charge battery & hope it holds charge. Check water level in cells. Add only distilled water. Eliminate as many parasitic draws as you can.

Get cheap battery fuid cell tested and if it is not non-service you can test each cell for a bad one. Some batteries will self short internal and draw down and some will draw down and short after it senses a draw. If all cells seem to be good. then disconnect the poss cable charge batteries and wait over night to see if they draw down on there own. Use a 12 volt simple tester that shows voltage. If batteries are still up and at 12 volts you can hook up the poss post again and hold tester in position and see if you are seeing a slow voltage drop. This can be faster or even a .o5 volts in every 5 minutes but enough to take down a battery in time with an outside draw from something that you will have to follow down line to detect. Solar panel if non working would be a good place to start disconnecting for your testing.

The solar panel on our 2005 Kountry Star only charges the engine battery, not the house batteries. Yours may be the same.

Perhaps you are trying to run the absorption fridge via the inverter when stopped. That will run batteries down in a matter of hours.

Any storage compartment lights on?

Not if you aren't connected to shore power or running the generator. The converter/charger requires 120v input to produce 12v power.

All good information ...Thanks !
I have disconnected the batteries and they remain charged.... If I have shore power they remain charged...They are sealed batteries..no cells to check and they are new.... i have to believe I have something the former owner direct wired or added that is still on some where ....
i will keep looking ... If I find it I will post the answer ...who knows ....maybe it will be helpful to someone else !

Sorry forgot to mention my "same problem" is on a TIFFIN Allegro Bus. battery monitor shows 11.6 and can't start generator to charge with this voltage. We are not near shore power. Tried using starter "boost" when Bus is running but still can't get above 11.6. Can I use my pickup and jumper cables to add another battery?
