Kudos To Camping World

We always like to complain when something goes wrong, so thought I'd post when one went right. We decided to get a washer/dryer combo installed and I checked with the local (and semi-local) dealers about the cost to get one installed. Considering the cost of diesel in the package, our best bet was Camping World of San Antonio. We made the appointment and headed to the shop (about 90 miles one way). We arrived early, and other than a blocked driveway due to some construction, had no issues. The installation took slightly longer than the original estimate, but not a huge issue. They did a good job, cleaned up after themselves, and it all worked. And at the quoted price, so no last minute gotchas on the installed price. Credit given where credit is due to a professional job.

So nice when folks take the time to write something positive about a dealer in these forums, particularly CW, which seems to be the company everyone loves to hate. We too have had some very pleasant CW experiences in the past...couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant to deal with. I'm sure a lot of the negative experiences people report are totally true (there is not shortage of stupidity and incompetency amongst us humans), but most business people what their customers to have a good experience.

That headline was so rare I had to read it! Thank you for posting which CW you were at. I believe all the multitude of stories, so wouldn't use just any CW if I could possibly avoid it. But now I would try San Antonio if it worked out.

I have another Camping World that is super duper and that is in Robertsdale, Al.

They have repaired all of my problems that were caused by another Camping World in GA.

I recommend Robertsdale Camping world to all my friends on IRV2 and their technicians are top notch another words they take pride in their work and it shows.

There are a few Camping Worlds I would not recommend and they are in Woodstock and Oakwood, Ga, Chattanooga, TN, and Claera, Al. I'm sure there are a few others and we should list them all and Marcus should also know about them too.

Actually, I had two pretty good experiences with CW, and they were on the same trip. I ate a very large oak tree with my patio awning. We traveled for a couple of months with it sort of working, but it finally died a painful death. Dometic would not sell me one, I had to go through a dealer. Since I didn't know anyone, I called CW in Las Vegas, and had them order it. We scheduled it in, and after a few false starts, they installed it just fine.

I also had a bed room AC that never worked, so, again, I ordered one delivered to CW in St. George, UT. They had to do some messing around, but they got it in and it works fine. Believe me, summer in Utah with only one AC gets pretty warm...............

Anyway, those are my two major jobs done at CW.

How about IRV2 starting a new forum for recommended RV dealers. that way we would have a place to look when we need one. these here and there recommendations in different forums are too hard to find.

Congrats, I'm glad you have a good Camping World. Don't be surprised if you see soapy water running down your hallway floor eventually. Glad you gave them credit. Camping World of Nashville TN is the scum of the earth.

was the washer dryer installed ventless or vented model. we had a ventless model installed at CW ft worth and had it into CW San Antonio. the condenser was clogged. cost is $600 to get it cleaned. took three trips to CW San Antonio to get it corrected. has to contact Marcus to get them to correct the problem?

Kudos To Camping World

CW Colfax, NC, has done a good job for me. It has improved over the last couple of years after a new GM took over. I have truly had great experiences the last two service calls with them. Btw, they installed my WD, stackable, and I have been very happy with that.

Someone posted about that problem a few years ago. They phoned Splendide help line and were educated about the DIY cleaning method. You'll need to call them or use the search feature above to find that thread.
