Kwikee Step in and out while driving

Ok Folks just started this trip, the steps are cycling in and out when ever the feel like it, doesnt have to be a bump or anything. Just when ever they feel like coming out they go right back in when they do come out. I ended up unhook the wire connector so we had no issues. Now the only thing I can think of is when we went to leave a few days ago the steps got hung up out on driveway apron. Thanks for the new added feature of not being able to lock steps in the retracted position with switch. Now when we shut the door on second attempt we heard a loud bang from step area. I then lifted coach slightly and steps went in no issues. They worked fine at the camp ground. Step lock put switch kept them out while parked. The retracted when door was shut and stayed in the just seem to cycle while driving. Any ideas what to check. 2016

I recently had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bad connection in the wire bundle leading to the door switch. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it did not. Intermittent. I opened up the bundle and found the connector and replaced it. No more problems.

The door switches override the " ignition on " retraction feature of the steps , there isn't a vehicle in motion override of the door switches ; although it would be a great idea.
Here are some pdf files from the manufacturer .

Actually on the on our coach with the newer step the ignition overrides the door switches. If you have the steps locked extended by the inside switch, once you turn the key on it automatically retracts the step. I will check wiring in bundle.

The manual switch, yes, but NOT the door-open magnetic switch. The RVIA doesn't want anybody to break a leg, so opening the door always forces the step out. Even with ignition on.
