Kwikee step motor problem

Anyone know where I can buy replacement brushes for a kwikee step motor. Have a 2010 Itasca Sunova. Motor tech took mine apart and reported very worn brushes but had no idea where to buy. Thanks

The most common problem with electric steps, are people try get get on them before they are completely out. And that places more load on the small motor which eventually leads to motor or gear failure. I know I have been there and done that. After replacing the motor I have decided that if you are RVing, dont get in a hurry for anything. Just saying!

The motors for most steps are car window lift motors, or wiper motors! Go to the auto parts store and see which one matches up to your step motor, and buy a new one and swap them out! Easy, can't help with the brushes question, but a electronic's parts store is the first place I would call, and ask? Rail!

I don't know about the motors for newer Kwikee steps but either of these 2 Ford window lift motors are an exact replacement for the motor in my 1996 2 step Kwikee.
ACI p/n 83694, (new)...$53.99... at Advance Auto Parts in 2010.
CARDON p/n 42-309 (rebuilt)...$39.99 + $10 core charge.

I can't edit after time out but it looks like some of the sites I posted above are out of date. These should be okay:
Motor

PARTS 1

PARTS 2

PARTS 3

Make sure you keep ALL pivot points regularly lubed. A lot of step problems can be solved with good lubricant, not WD-40.

I second that. Some people use motor cycle chain lube, others spray lithium grease, etc.
I used KwikLube. Pricey, but one can used twice a year lasted me for 10 years.

Try any auto parts store and have them look up a 1994 Ford Taurus Drivers Side Window Motor. You will have to wire the plug as it probably wont match up, color codes are the same.

Should be the one.
