Kwikee Steps won't come out!

Well today I was moving our rv around and was in and out of it as it was idiling steps went in and out everytime. Then all of a sudden they just seemed to stop I can here it trying to do something the light comes on and off when you open and close the door any ideas????

Check for corroded ground. If the ground is clean and tight check the voltage of steps while in operation. If above 12 vdc then the motor and or gear case could be going bad.

If the light is going off and on, that tells you the switch is working. As the other post suggested, check the ground first. If the ground is OK, next take the three 5/16 screws loose from the gearbox cover. The gearbox can bind and cause the controller to shut off the power. The steps do not have a in and out limit switch.Instead the motor runs until the controller sense's a rise in amp draw. Then the controller shuts off the power. If the steps are bound up the controller sense's the high amp draw and shuts off the power. To check for this, lay down next to the steps and open and close the door. If you hear a click from the controller, that tells you the steps are bound.
