Looked at a 2013 Monaco Diplomat today.
"NO LADDER"
Salesman said all the high end coaches do not
have a ladder. Is this true????
If so, why not? He felt the only reason to go
on the roof was to wash it. Obviously not an RVer.

Is this the future of the class A??

There are some that just never use it and when they ordered the new one asked for it to not be there cause they think they do not need it and will never need it.

Many high end coaches do not have it. A couple reasons. Cosmetically, they feel it detracts from the look of the coach. Practically, it's almost impossible to mount one properly on a coach that's over 12'6" or so. I think the RVIA requirement for a mounted ladder is that it must project 1' or so above the roofline so you actually have something to hold onto when you get to the top. On my coach, the end caps and top of the awning mounts are 13' or so. There's just no available vertical room to put a ladder over the top of the end cap.

you are better off using a regular ladder to access the roof anyway. the one that is mounted on the rear of a MH only has a few points actually holding onto the MH. With an external ladder the weight is distributed to the ground, besides you need an external ladder anyway to access the top front of the MH anyway.
