Lambert Battery Maintainer

Does anyone know of a good replacement for the LE 415 Lambert Battery Maintainer. Mine is not charging the chassis batteries and Labert is asking $249 for a replacement.

Pick up the Ultra Trik-l-start for about 50 bucks. Does the same job.

This unit is nothing more than a diode based battery isolator.
Google (Diode Battery Isolators) and you can find one for ~ $50.
Don't worry about voltage drop across the diodes as you are only using this to "maintain" a charge on the chassis battery when on shore power. Correct?

Can I just leave the old Lambert installed and just unhook the Chassis side? Much cheaper than the 249 Lambert wants. Thanks

Loulong, yes only concerned about the chassis side. House batteries do just fine.

Yes, I assume the Lambert was in a circuit that passed charging voltage on the house batteries back to the chassis batteries.

Is this on a Monaco?

Just what I did. Trikle start is the ticket. As I recall the Lambert charges at a higher rate than the triklstart, it has no adverse impact.

For more current like the Lambert had (15 amps) try the newer Amp-l-Start. Same company as Trik-L-Start. Cost is $65. WWW.lslproducts.net. Used the Trik-L-Start successfully for 2 years then upgraded last year to the Amp-l-Start. Works great, takes up very little room, and is easy to install.
Good luck and safe travels!

Kind of wish I got the Amp-L-Start. With two starting batteries the extra amperage would have been nice. Otherwise, for the price these units fit the bill very well.
