Reminds me of a couple of U Tube fiascos that have circulated. A good cell phone for your partner set in Movie Mode is a necessity. IMHO

I don't boat all the time, but when I do, they are launched for me.

A few years ago I saw a really nice Class A up to the windows in Canyon Lake, AZ. The boat was floating fine, however.

You only have to have one thing of many possibilities go wrong to have a VERY expensive oops!

I would not take such a triple-dog-dare risk, nor wonder about what I do not know, that close to the agua.
40 bucks to have it launched beats the alternative, me thinks.

Right,
Back in the Good Ole Days, before cell phones to record the excitement, I was working for a fellow that owned a marina on a lake in central Alberta.
On this day, we put a boat in the water to deliver across the lake and bring another one back.
While we were gone he left his keys with the young fella at the marina and told him to take a specified trailer and load a specific boat before we got back.
Well, we pulled into the marina and he began to chuckle about some dummy that had backed his car into the lake.
Turns out (you guessed it) it was his Brand New 65 Ford Galaxie Convertable with the boat trailer attached. All you could see was the Sunvisors.
Turns out the kid backed the trailer into the lake and after getting out to look, decided he needed to back in a little further. So rather than get back in the car, he just reached in and pulled it out of park, thinking he would just slip it back into pack at the appropriate time. Wrong...

There are a million boat launching stories at the lake, this is one of them.
