Leaking toilet = fire

The toilet in John's 2004 Allegro Bay started not sealing when flushed and then leaking. We ordered a new toilet but while waiting for it to arrive, it leaked underneath and got on some electrical connections, burned and melted all the connections. When we got back from enjoying a game of cards with some friends, we smelled an acrid odor especially in the bedroom and none of the electric outlets were working. We were looking all over for the source of the odor, then looked in the compartment underneath the bathroom. It was a ball of black, melted rubber and the compartment was singed. We couldn't believe how lucky we had been - that the fire hadn't spread. All is repaired now, but with all the talk about leaks on the forum, I wanted to warn you about this possibility.
