Leaning? Coachmen Pursuit

Hi all - we have a new 2016 Coachmen Pursuit. It has one large slide. We have auto leveling. The dealership told us to park, level, then put out the slide. So we have and when we put out the slide, the RV leans toward that side. I understand this is probably from the weight of it, but it makes me nervous for two reasons:

1) it'll tip over (no high winds here to worry about - I'm probably just paranoid)

2) it'll damage the slide and I've heard that's a costly fix.

I read there are levelers for slides, but I fear we will jack it too high and break something.

Is this a common, normal thing? We have very little weight packed on that slide - some clothing, sheets and pots/pans with some canned goods/boxed food items. I can take a picture if that helps.

The ground is pretty level as well, we are at the top of a gravel driveway.

First RV, first time out.

Thanks in advance!

When your jacks are down and steady it should not lean when opening slides. Maybe the jacks are sinking in dirt or soft ground, have you tried releveling when slide is out?

Common, just relevel with the slides out.

Our's does the same thing. Did they tell you why you shouldn't do that?

Had to do with the slide. It will on retract when the coach thinks it's level. So if you level, put the slide out, and level again, it might not think it's actually level.

Hubby took an actual level out there and it's still between the lines...so maybe I'm just paranoid.

All tires are on the ground.

Recalibrate your levelers to make sure they are accurate. FWIW. we never use auto level mode. We use the manual override to keep it from extremes.

I re-level periodically if I feel we are slightly off, even after the slides are out - I don't bring in the slides to make a slight angle adjustment...

on our coach I can easily....
-turn the ignition key to 'on'
-turn on the LCI Leveling panel
-push 'manual'
-push the left(or right) arrow to bring it up slightly, as needed
-turn off panel
-turn off ignition

no need to crank the diesel engine since there is usually plenty of battery power to make a small adjustment, though on several occasions I have actually brought all of the legs up, and re-leveled, even after the slides were out. : )

Thanks, all!

We survived our first trip!

Turns out our microwave isn't working so we are going to have to take it in and I plan to ask about the slide and leveling.

But I appreciate your replies!
