LED awning lights for my A&E Weatherpro

Just upgraded coach and have an A&E Weatherpro Awning with the wind guard. Prior rig, 93 Pace Arrow DP with a manual A&E awning.
When we had the pace we would string the plastic hangers on the tube & hang light's, a real PITA if you ask me!

Now that we have a nice new rig don't want to string lights across the tube. Especially with the wind guard! I have been seeing some adds for led lighting that "appears" to be somehow connected to the bottom side on the awning, up against the wall.

What are others using? I really like the thought of NOT having to string lights. I've even seen the colored LED's that have a box to adjust colors but not sure if I'd go the color route. Dimmable would be the bomb!

We used strip LED lights and cut them to length. They attach with double-sided tape under the slide topper against the coach. Might eventually consider installing some on the barrel that rolls out the awning -- if I could figure out how to get power out there. The light from the top-side of the slide-out illuminates the space under the awning very nicely. \ken

I have a led strip inside awning grove that plugs into the side of porch light. Never use it to much trouble.

I just installed LEDs on my awning. Ordered a kit from Girard, but didn't use the electrical part of the install kit. I did a pig tail tap into the power running to the vibration sensor. Used a $9 LED wireless dimmer from Amazon as a controller. First night out, works great. The dimmer module is a few inches long and small in diameter, easy to tuck into the awning.

How good do these stick? I am concerned with them blowing off while driving. Plus will it damage the paint if I wanted to remove them?

The strip lights do come with double-sided stickey-tape type adhesive on them. But like you, I wanted to be sure they would not blow off. I used 3M double sided tape between the coach and the lights to be sure they would stick. So far so good. /ken

Ken, how did you tap into power for the lights? Trying to avoid using a ladder each time.

I like the LED's under the awning BUT in order for me to apply it looks liek it's attached UNDER the drip edge tat the fabric slips into.

I used 12v LED's that are powered from the porch light box.

I have an A&E WeatherPro electric awning. The light strip is installed directly below the awning channel. As others have suggested, use 3M trim tape to insure a good bond. You can buy 3M trim tape at any auto supply store. I have included a link to a YouTube video that I pretty much followed. The only difference on mine is that I used the porch light that is in the center of my slide out. The install was a little more complicated than the video since I had to cut the strip in half and had two connection points rather than one.
