LED conversion

Has any found a 'drop-in' 12v LED replacement for the 12v incandescent pin halogen bulb under counter lights. These current lights are recessed within the 1" or so false bottom of my outside wall storage units. They friction fit up in a almost 4" dia hold.
Most LED replacement bulbs for pin lights don't fit in the very small reflector space of these stock fixtures and are too dim to to the job, even if they did fit. What have others done?

Try www.superbrightleds.com and search by bulb. If there is an led equivalent, they will have it.

I believe PPL motorhomes sells one. There are a couple of others out there. They look like a wafer with LED's on it. Make sure to read the Lumens output on the bulb. There are a lot of different brightness levels for sell and the cheaper one are less output than the halogns

You might try M4 Products at M4PRODUCTS.COM. Good luck.

I just finished swapping out the halogen bulbs for the led's. My husband was not thrilled that I decided to do this, but is very pleased with the resulting light. Be advised that you might need to pop out the reflector/heat sink to get the light in correctly for the lens to fit on with the retro fit. You won't need it anyway as the led's point down and don't need either a reflector or heat sink. Easy peasy once you figure out how to remove it, the led's became plug and play for me.

I have switched out almost every light in my MH to LED. The best place to find tem is on Ebay (Also on Amazon). Look for seller "Yitamotor". He carries just about any bulb and any color you will need...... AND his prices can't be beat!! No relationship with him.... Just a happy customer.

You need a G4 base. I used a 2.5W 12 led Warm white. As earlier posted, you will have to remove the reflector of the existing light to get them to fit.
I've been happy with the output of the light. The type I used is LED-G4-12SMD Which is the fancy name for led, g4 base, 12 surface mounted devices.
