LED Dimmer ?

So I replaced my ceiling lights with LED lights and now I was thinking of installing a dimmer. The problem is the dimmer requires me to use both neg and pos wires into the dimmer and pos and neg out to the lights. My switch has only one wire in and one wire out (switched on the pos wire). I am assuming the lights are common chassis ground. My question is, can I use a common wire in and out for the ground. I can grab a ground wire in the wiring area where the switch is located.

Most of the dimmers are very fussy about that and need to have a ground throughput at the dimmer that carries the ground only for that light. I had the same issue with some of the accent lights in our new coach and have had limited success so far, although I haven't given up, just need time to work at it. I bought dimmers from superbright LEDs and they work well after I get the grounds found. My main issue was finding the grounds to the ones over each front slide in the interior. One option is to install the dimmers right at the beginning of the led strips and use the remotes, but hiding the little devils takes some work.

I installed a rheostat in several of my LED fixtures. (reading lights in bedroom headboard)

Adding a dimmer to LED lighting | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

I also modified a couple of my two bulb (two LEDs) fixtures so instead of the ceiling switch being OFF-MED-HIGH.

They are now controlled by wall switch and the fixture switch now selects LOW-MED-HIGH.

Bathroom light when the 3 a.m. call I don't get blinded by the bright light.

Adding bathroom light wall switch converts ceiling fixture to LOW-MED-HIGH | 2001 Coachmen Mirada 300QB

IMPORTANT - This rheostat and resistor modification will NOT work with an incandescent bulb.

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.
