I still visit RV.net and RV Forum - Home (Which is very nice, small, but nice)

This host is kind of klunky, the RV.NET host is much better, that means there are more people there since the system is faster and the more people you have the more .. uh,, AH (That's Agressive Hostiles) you will have. Thus the more moderation that's needed (I like moderation in moderation myself and as a assistant forum moderator (in forums not mentioend in this post) I practice that, I've had to take action (other than thread pruning) one time in about a decade or so of moderation)

I would not abandond that place though.. You just learn to ignore some posters is all.. There is a lot of good stuff there.

I have had, however, to end a few discussions on occasion. By making a final post and saying so.. And then sticking to my word.

I decided to end my relationship with RV.net today, there have been too many heated discussions lately that resulted in the thread being closed, or getting an obscenity laden PM about a comment I made. After a few back and forths I decided to walk, it's just not worth it.

I tend to not back down when attacked, a character flaw on my part, and in turn I get snippy myself. I guess it's just not fun over there to me.

As for the host here I prefer the Vbulletin setup, but that's also how I cut my forum teeth so it's what I'm used to.

IMHO,,,,they have the best search engine I have used on any forum,,,which actually provides results related to the search.....

I have had good results with most of the forums,,,,

I have gotten pretty good at ignoring the Moron Factor,,,,,,,every entity has the 10%'ers......

They get placed on my "Pay No Mind List",,,,or if really Moronic,,,,,they get placed in the KMA Club,,,

I use the forums for entertainment,,,,,gain knowledge,,,,and share experiences when I have something to contribute,,,,,,,and to search issues if I have a problem as welllll.

Tim, there are no stupid questions. The only dumb ones are the ones that you did not ask...

Both sites have things to offer.....both are helpful....there is just a question of the Moderators on RV.net sometimes being a bit to "empowered"..

I wouldn't let a few "off the wall" comments keep me from using both sites.....you shouldn't either...

Visit as many sights as you can find, there is good and bad to be found anywhere.
You have to decide what suits your needs.

Boy do I agree with that!

I too have left RV.NET because of JohnnyT. His censorship/editing of posts is way out of control.

The final thing that did it. He edited my signature because it contained this: 01.20.13

That man is driving lots of people away from their site. Someone mentioned earlier that they have met JohnnyT personally and he's a nice guy. But I think being a moderator has gone to his head. I'll probably get flamed because I mentioned JohnnyT specifically.
