We need bunks and can't find anything we love. What we do find we love doesn't have the best rep. or it doesn't have the best build quality when we look in person (flimsy doors and walls).

Being that we can't find the perfect fit (high style, quality, and bunks) we are going to need to compromise for now and trade up later.

Do we still go after a diesel pusher or go for gas and save money since this will be stationary most of the time? (around 12K miles a year)

And I prefer used because I hate paying depreciation
A used low mileage gas coach will cost much less in the beginning and in the long run as well, with 12K miles/yr travel, unless you must have a 45ft length and four slides, maybe. Then just go older and stick with quality, always. Sound engineering always beats newness, in any price range and you will find that most complaints come from the newer low line RV's and not from the tried and proven. Warranties are especially a PITA and like having the initial savings much better.

You're dreaming if you think your kids will leave home by age 18.

Never heard of the boomerang effect?

They get shipped to Florida when they are 18 We have the traditional house there in the same neighborhood as my parents and both grandmothers

We bought the 35B because of the bunks. We have a 6 year old. Absolutely love it. Lots of room and plenty of perks even though it is considered an entry level coach. Looked at the Forza last month because I thought I wanted a DP with bunks but to tell you the truth like the layout of the 35B better so we are sticking with it.
