Here in Southern Maryland I had the Amish build mine. It is 48x24 and has a 16 foot ceiling. The building and concrete cost $ 22,000 which included a 14x14 roll up door. The electric and site prep was about another $2500.

DABROOKS, Did CHA pole barns build yours? They are the ones who built mine, they will finish up some small stuff today. Will post pictures next week or so.

No I got bids from 3 different Amish. Rueban Swarey built mine. It is a father and three sons and the materials were ordered through R&D Cross. They did a wonderful job and it took 3 days to erect. I had a different guy do the concrete. I waited about 6 weeks after the building was done before I had the concrete poured. I also ordered the roll up door and Rueban installed that.

I'm also considering a RV garage/barn. I've been looking at the metal garages from companies like GAPORT. At present my RV sits on Gravel which drains well. Should I spend for cement or simply pour a cement chain wall to set the Garage on with the balance gravel? My plan was to build it 24X50X12" side walls pitching to over 16' center. Excluding ground material cement vs gravel, my estimated cost to build is about $12,000. Any advice?

LS - up to you depending upon what you want to spend and how you plan to use the shed. If it is just storage a gravel floor may be enough. If you want to work on the coach and perhaps slide underneath concrete may be warranted.

I remain with gravel. There are some issues with fines tracking into the coach but a pallet placed on the ground with a rug gives a place to de-sand the shoes. Placed a board under the air wash to stop the air wash from digging holes in the gravel.

Here' our 30' x 40' RV Garage\Workshop with a 12' wide x 14' high door (I hope the pix shows up). This shell was just finished by the Amish last week and the cement floor is scheduled to be poured on Monday. We are building a downsized (1470 sq ft) house to the right.

You can build it with gavel now and pour concrete later. You just need to elevate it for the future finish grade. I elevated my piers 6" above my current gravel. When I get a spare $5K, I'll pour the concrete paving. Also, I started with 24' wide and changed it to 26' for very few dollars. I wanted to be able to park a vehicle beside the MH.

The gravel has become a nuisance because I used a 3/8" washed crushed stone topping. It sticks in the treads of our shoes, and is painlful on the knees. I would suggest slightly larger river gravel with smooth edges. It does however prevent mud from tracking.

The material for the building cost just under $10K with tax. I had some help from some friends and access to some equipment. We put the building up in 4 days, over two weekends. I ran the loader.

Man, I must be doing something wrong. I found this thread and drool. I'd need to hit the lottery to afford these "garages" for their RV's. One can dream. As they say, a dollar and a dream...

30x50 with 14 high doors. Tried to design so the scale didn't look so high from the street. Cost about 40k with all the environmental codes in Washington state.

Can't remember if I posted in "this" garage thread...

Mine is supposed to be started the first week of December by Morton. 30x50x16 with a 20x14 door. Full insulation, concrete floor.

Currently working with power company to figure out how much getting power to it will cost. If it is too much, it will remain a dark building til late spring as the building is already near the top of the cash we had budgeted. We will see.
