Leveling Jacks and Slides

I have been sitting in KY working for Amazon for the last 3 months...ready to hit the road again next week. This is my first Class A....always had small campers, never with a slide. Now I have 3.

I have various opinions on whether to raise the automatic leveling jacks BEFORE OR AFTER bringing in the slides. I guess the same goes when setting up. What order do you bring in/out the slides and raise/lower the jacks. Thanks for your expertise and advice.

With engine running I dump air then use auto level of jacks. After leveling extend slides. Shutdown engine and enjoy.
Leaving I start engine bring in slides retract jacks and air up.
This is per Fleetwood.

For my fifth wheel, I extend/retract the slides while the camper is in it's most level state, (jacks down). I believes this puts the least stress on the slides and system when it is level.

Recommendations vary depending on the make and model of your MH. What do you have?

Level then extend slides, retract slides then start engine which builds air. IMHO
Now I have a question, I have a 2001 Damon Escaper 40 ft., 2 slides. 350 Cummins with 7500 watt diesel genset and Allison 5 speed trans. Just bought it and set it up in my yard till spring BUT I may want to take it to Ohio for Christmas and now my two rear jacks won't raise completely. I cannot find the manual relief valves mentioned in the book. Anybody know where I can locate them?

When leaving a park, bring in all the slides and then raise your leveling jacks. When you pull into a new park, lower your leveling jacks and level your rig. Then put all slides out. On my rig I can't even put my slides out until I level.

Read your owners manual. Different brands have different methods for jacks and slides. My coach says level and then slides. I level then extend slides. On leaving, I retract slides first.

My friend's coach says to extend slides then level.
Read your manual

Being a new owner I have been reading this blog and scratching my head to determine the right way to do this. I just signed on to NEWGLE and was reading through the information when I came upon the Slide procedures. This will be the procedure I will follow, as someone here mentioned every manufacturer has a different procedure
