Someone here did a strip of led's tastefully along each side. I believe the lights sequentially blinked with the turn signals. It's worth finding or searching for the pics.

There's a solar power led flood light that clamps to your flag pole that is designed for that.
My Pop's just got one off amazon a couple of weeks ago. I haven't seen how bright it is or how long it will illuminate the flag on a charge, but I do like the idea.
