Lippert Slide won't go out evenly

Well my big fear is realized. I have a full wall slide on my 2014 Itasca. When I went to open it the front moved but the back didn't move much at all. I'm at an FMCA event and a guy helped me as much as he could. He taped it out then in repeatedly trying to get the motors to sync. No luck, there was about a 2" difference front to back plus the rear jumping. We think we have it retracted enough to continue our weekend and get home but is there anything I could do to make it work?

Not sure if we have the same system as mine is a 2016. We have a slim rack Lippert System. Our BR slide started extending and retracting very unevenly, but it would ultimately retract and extend fully. Took the rig to Forrest City on the way home from Idaho as it was only 70 miles out of the way. Turns out they had a bunch of Lippert folks there for the GNR at that time. They dove in on the problem and gave up saying we had a bad controller. Only took a few minutes to take the controller we had out and pop a new one in. Ran fine-- all well now.

But the other slide acted up several weeks earlier and it turned out the motor mounts were broken on it, and they changed the entire rack and pinion system on that slide to get it repaired. I've heard they have an easy repair kit for that particular problem now.

Obviously there could very well be other issues and it needs to be properly diagnosed.

Just sharing my recent experience.

Sounds like you have it in enough to move. I'd suggest a transit lock or wooden brace on the slide just in case when its retracted until you can get it back in proper service.

Hope yours is that simple and you can get it fixed and usable soon and without expense!

Just a thought any out of level condition on a slide can cause binding and prevent proper slide movement, I had a problem with my slide after trying several times and it would move a few inches and stop decided to relax the coach by coming of jacks and all worked like its supposed to. Try this even though the levelers say your level it may not be and a slight twist could cause it to lock up especially with a long slide out.
Really hope this works for you as it did for my coach.
Good Luck

I have a similar issue with my 2012 Monaco Knight but seems to have corrected itself after a couple minor changes. I have a hydraulic slide out system with a single motor controlling two slide outs, one that is a full wall slide. I have noticed on the smaller slidout that when extended, the right corner pops into place about 1/2 second after the left but has never caused a problem. I have noticed recently that occasionally the full wall slide comes in at a slight angle. When I notice this, I will stop the motor and reverse it to take it back out. It has only occurred a couple of times but I contacted Lippert who stated I should check the flow devider to make sure it did not have any debris causing a partial obstruction. I went ahead and changed the ATF fluid as Lippert recommend it be done every 36 months. Everything seems normal again now but always "hold my breath" when operating the larger slides. My Norcold bedroom slide is on a cable system and has never had any problems.

Forgot to add, make sure you lube the slide seals and mechanism very frequently. It seems to always make the slides move much smoother. Use either a silicon spray or dedicated slide out spray. I have found it at Walmart and use it very frequently.

Have you tried re levelling the coach, and also try coming off levelling jacks with coach in a relaxed mode as long as your on a reasonably flat surface it should work. If this works like mine you made need to reset the jacks to correct level. Good Luck Hope this helps.
