Did they send it to you or to a Dealer who gave it to you to install? Just wondering as I have been waiting for a couple of weeks to hear from the Dealer that the part is in.

The voluntary recall includes 47,340 units of the product that were sold through OEM and aftermarket channels between 2008-14, according to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

How did you get the part for the recall? According to the web site it has to be ordered and installed by a dealer. Seems like a lot of hassle to take it to a dealer just to bolt on a plate.

real funny story
I called my selling dealer, they no longer sell tuscanys
and were not much help. so i called our local rv tech repair place (mom and pop ) they called lippert and then lippert sent pieces to thor, thor forwarded them to my local guy
parts came in and i didn't feel like driving 30 minutes for a 10 minute job. so i asked if i could have the parts and install them.
i use this place alot, they got credit for the recall and i spent ten minutes under the coach...just put it on, and finished the front end grease job

At the Tiffin Rally in Sarasota FL in early March a Lippert crew went to all the effected coaches and completed the repair. I didn't even need to be there.

Appreciate your help uncovering the list on the Lippert website re: step recall. Where did they hide it? Or is this another case of (my) user error?

Lippert recall
Just called lippert 1-574-537-8900 ext 9 recall# 15E078000. You need your 12 digit vin and they (lippert) will give you a case# and your RV dealer will have to order that part based on the Lippert case number an install it for you.

Since it hasn't been stated yet on the thread, the recall is for the Stromberg series step which are owned by LCI, but have now been discontinued. The LCI Kwikke steps are not part of the recall.
You have 2 options, request the upgrade bracket as discussed before, or request the discount option to upgrade to Kwikee.
I'm waiting for pricing on the Kwikee upgrade rather than repair an out of date product.

As an alternative they are offering $200 towards price of new Quickie steps plus .5 hr labor. My dealer North Trail has taken over a week to get the info. Finally called to say the new steps would cost me $1100 plus 2 hr installation. I told them just get the recall part. Yes the info from the company says it has to be professionally installed to warrant part. I need some ac work so I will have them do it then. Wasn't too impressed with how long it took them to get answers or the answers, but i am on crutches and hostage to paying for help.

I can confirm the information on the $200 and .5 labor, but North Trail is way out of line on their pricing. Call Independence RV instead.
My 30 inch double step on the LcI web site retails for $700 minus the 200 from LCI so my worst price is $500. I'll be glad to contribute to their labor.
I'm still waiting for pricing from my local dealer but I I know that they will get the step at dealer cost minus 200
Keep shopping.
