Location of coach & chassis batteries
Does anyone know of a manufacture of a DP where the chassis and coach batteries are located where the only access is inside the coach rather than being located in a bay? If there is such an animal please tell me which manufacturer and model.
Thanks,
Gary

Do you mean the interior of the coach? If so, I don't think you'll find anything like that. The batteries can't be inside the coach because they can vent a gas.

Well foretravel puts eng batteries behind the muffler not in a bay and they are a bear to change out. The 6 coach batteries are next to the wet bay and they are no fun getting out either. If you are trying to get more bay space you are stuck.

AGM and gel (valve-regulated) batteries can be located inside the passenger compartment. Cars often have that these days.
I don't know of any Class A coaches that do that, probably because interior space is too valuable to waste on batteries. Class B's, however, have them inside.

Our house batteries are in the basement behind a wall.

Thor mounts the chassis batteries inside under a panel in the rear closet on one model. It's a huge PIA.

Our WBGO has AGM house batteries in a vented compartment below the main storage bay. Chassis batteries are mounted in an external compartment at rear. Have seen installs of Lithium batteries intentionally placed in interior cabinets to address cold exposure issues.

So do some Class C's. My friend has batteries under the entrance steps that are actually inside the coach.
