So now, deadbolt is thrown before the MH goes in gear.
You didn't lose your spouse! So then did you look for a bigger pot hole?

The only time both locks are not engaged is when we are sitting outside the door enjoying the day.

THE REST OF THE STORY....
Years ago door latches opened down to open the door, a more natural motion to open a door. Then an event occurred that reversed everything. At some time while going down the road a DW fell into the stair well grabbing the door handle as she fell, door opened and she rolled out. As I recall the story the DH wasn't aware of her departure and went many miles down the road before he realized she was missing. She wasn't seriously hurt, but I'm not sure about the DH.
Since that time all RV manuf have have reversed the opening to pull the handle up to open.

i had it once that it popped open when i was approaching a red light. ever since we always dead lock it no matter in a park or on the road. by the way, our coach has a standalone dead bolt, in addition to a lockable handle.

Yep, always keep both locks locked. My dog can and has opened the door. Also, when I leave the MH and dog is inside, I not only lock both locks but also pull the screen slide over the handle and inside locks just to be sure. Only time not locked is when I am outside with dog and close to the MH.
