LOL Looky Loo question
We currently have a 34' TT but started looking at Class A gas models recently. My question is, why is it that so many lower cost and super high dollar class A's, both gas and pusher have the door to the crapper directly across from the fridge? Off hand so far I'd say that is the industry standard. About the only units we have seen that don't have that wonderful feature are some units with a pocket door between the living and bedroom/bath areas.
For instance:
Of the four Winnebago Class A gas models, Adventurer, Suncruiser, Sightseer, and Sunova there are 13 floorplans (yes, I know they share floorplans between models) 8 of these models have the poo house directly across from the fridge. 5 models don't.
On the top of the line Newmar gas jobs 3 of the 9 floorplans have the fecal depository within 6'-7' feet of the milk jug and another unit very close to that 6'-7'.
Top of the line Thor has 1 of the 6 floorplans directly within the fume path, 1 very close, and on one unit the poo palace door looks like it'd hit a dining chair if someone was sitting eating tacos or whatever. Interestingly the Thor Tuscany line has 4 of 5 floor plans with the poo pit and reefer directly across from one another.
Top of the line Fleetwood, 2 of 3 floor plans have 2-3 steps between the ice cream and commode.
Why is this? You don't see that in too many trailers and just about never in top of the line trailers. I understand MH's need to be be build different than TT's or 5'ers but it would seem they could get at least 8' of space between fresh food cold storage and it's place of smelly deposit on a 35'-40' motorhome.

BTW, of units I have walked through the Couchman models seem to have less of this (in the upper tier units) than the others.

Our dinette is as far away as any can get from the half bathroom, which is still only about 8 feet away, and across the MH. We have yet to "smell" anything while eating or sitting at the dinette, or on the couch right across from the half bath. The fridge is about 4 feet away from the half bath, on the same side, still no smells or worries about anything being contaminated by any odors. I don't really know how TT could be any better positioned. But if that is your biggest concern in a floorplan you're doing pretty good, as the bathrooms are well ventilated.

Built that way on purpose so you can reach in the fridge and eat while you are busy. In one end and out the other.

That actually is the most logical explanation .......
The 2 most used appliances should be close to each other

OP,
If you are this fixated on the bodily elimination process then possibly purchasing a motorhome is not in your best interest.
Do you realize, that under your bed in the TT, there might be gallons and gallons of poo, AND fecal matter, just inches away under the floor?

15 Discovery
We can carry 125 gal of sewage. After a delightful elimination, there is no place safe in 20 to 40'. The inside of the frig might be...
There is far more things to worry about, say Nov.

Mainly, I was just wondering why MH's don't have similar floor plans as TT's? It seems it can be done. I fully understand camping is camping be it in a tent or a $400,000 MH. I don't expect it to be like home, but it seems like trailers are much more home like than MH's.

Bob1340, travel trailers do not have the issue of the engine up front (gas models) and the two chairs up front. Limits what can be done as for floor plans.

I would see an issue if my frig was inside the poo poo room itself but next door to it, with a wall or door between,, nope. As stated above, there's a good chance gallons of poop water are a foot or two beneath the bed.

That's in a tank, under the trailer. On mine it's underneath the bathroom. But, my 2007 Keystone has/had only one small outside storage bin which was under the bed. If you lift the bed you could access it! LOL, when I got the trailer (used) they kept all the poo pipes and connections under there. Gross. I completely rebuilt it so about 1/3 of that storage is accessible under the bed and sealed from the outside bin. I keep all my poo pipe and associated connectors in a bumper box now. I really enjoy a good Dutch Oven at times, but I only want fresh home made smells, not old smells coming up under my pillow.

Many occupants of stick houses store their toothbrushes within 8' of their toilet stool.
Most of those occupants do not sterilize the toothbrush before using........
