Long Term Storage

I have a 2005 Monoco Knight. I have been offered a job that will take me out of the country for two years. So I will have to sell or store my RV. I really don't want to sell it. So what are the implications of storing my RV for up to two years? I will be coming home every six months so I could start it and drive it at least every six months. I thought I would put it under a cover and remove the batteries at least. Should I drain the fluids or do anything else?
Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't drain any fluids but would change the oil every other 6 month exercising period. Put some fungicide additive in the diesel fuel as well. Getting run about every 6 months wouldn't be the worst one of these has been through. The generator may take it the worst if you are storing it somewhere with high humidity.

Removing and replacing batteries lends itself to problems and it is a lot of work to go through every six months.
I suggest a cover if possible, winterize if you are in a climate that dictates and if there is any way to plug into shore power, run a 15 or 20 Amp extension cord and let her sleep.
You could exercise the generator every six months but as far as the rest, if you take it out annually for a put, should be sufficient.

Dear Old German. You really shouldn't leave it set that long. I'll volunteer to take care of it for you while you are gone. I have 15 years experience driving motorhomes over 40,000 miles. I will take good care of your Monaco, and let you use it when you need it. I promise. Eddie Elk.
