Looking for a campground

Our youngest daughter was just accepted to Appalachian State College, so we are looking for a good campground in that area as we will be making several trips over.

Anyone have any reccomendations for nice campgrounds over there?

Thanks,

If you are an Apple user, search "Camp & RV Allstays". Excellent app for finding campsites, services, dump stations, Overnight friendly Wal-Marts, , etc. You can search a specific area, or browse the map. Once you find an area, tap on the icon and up pops all the pertinent info you need, reviews, links to their websites, maps, and a direct "Call" button. We have used it to make several reservations already, and we don't even own a MH yet....leaving next week to pick up our new MH in Memphis and bring it home to Houston. If you pay for it once, you can download it to up to 4 other devices using the same iTunes account.

The same app can be downloaded from the android play store, I have it on 5 android devices. Don't know if there is a maximum number of devices that can use it from the same account. We have 2 phones and 3 tablets using the app all on the same account.

Agree - great app. I have other camp and dump apps but this is a great one.

Good luck,

Mr Chips,
Congratulations to you and your daughter. Boone NC is a really nice little town. Not much there but ASU and ski areas and Christmas tree farms. I think there are some very nice campgrounds in the area. Unfortunately I haven't camped in the nearby area. I have stayed at Bear Den which is a ways south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I would not recommend Bear Den to any RV over 25' long. I imagine you'll soon be an expert on the area.
