Looking for input/advice on hydraulic pump

100 miles from home on our last trip, I noticed the radiator cooling fan surging. It is a hydraulic motor driven fan. I checked the fluid level and it was way low. I added two gallons and made it home. I haven't seen any evidence of a leak and then checked the engine oil level and found the missing hydraulic fluid. The oil level was way over the full mark. I'm thinking my hydraulic pump has blown a seal. It is mounted to the air compressor. My guess is the pump is pushing the hydraulic fluid out through the air compressor back into the engine crankcase.
I'm just looking for your thoughts or experience before I proceed with repair. Thanks.

Update if anybody cares:
Pump was rebuilt by local hydraulic shop. It had internal seal failure.
Cost about $200 vs $622 for new pump from Spartan.
Parker H90 pump
Parker seal kit# 706024K
