Looking for pre-purchase inspection service

We are in the process of possibly purchasing our first motorhome. The MH is located in lower SW Florida and we are scheduled to meet with the owner next week. We have an appointment with a local authorized Spartan chassis service facility and will have a complete chassis inspection and have the engine hooked up to an engine analyzer. If all goes well with that we want to have a qualified tech inspect most if not all of the coach/house systems. We printed out several different PDI inspection forms before we began our search but having never owned a motorhome we think it would be money well spent to have someone that is knowledgeable with the operating systems.
We've found a few places in the SW FL area that perform that type of service but after speaking to them and/or researching their companies we haven't found someone we think would do the level or types of inspections that we feel probably should be done. Any suggestions regarding a repair facility or knowledgeable honest tech they have used or know of would be greatly appreciated. Gary

First, welcome to iRV2. You will be happy to hang with this great group of RV'ers.

Second, to answer, are you going to get an extended warranty?

I'd advise you do so, as that will bring you a great deal of peace of mind for several years, knowing that the major repair items are covered for you up front. One company I'd recommend for this is Wholesale Warranties, which happens to be an iRV2 supporter.

The reason I mentioned this is that when you get an extended warranty, they will arrange to have an inspection done, then you (and they) will have it certified that all the major systems are functioning as expected. This will prevent future issues if a claim is required.

Butch Williams at Fountain RV can do a coach inspection. While I don't have personal experience with Butch, friends I trust speak highly of him. He is a previous Country Coach employee, and while you apparently is not buying a Country Coach, systems will be very similar, if not the same.
Contact information:

Toll Free: 888-264-6523 or local: 863-984-9764. Butch Williams,
formerly with CC, LLC Service Department, is at your service.

Ted, thanks for the welcome and info. I planned on purchasing an extended warranty. WW was one of the companies we were looking into. I hadn't considered that a warranty company would be inspecting an RV that it was going to insure. We are under time constraints for the purchase to take place but I will definitely give them a call.

No problem, if you use a certified RV service provider to inspect the coach, they will generally use that inspection versus scheduling one. Any reputable inspector will provide a written report of their findings, but I would be sure that your warranty company, as well as the inspector understand that. You want the warranty company to agree to accept the inspection, and the inspector to understand that you need their report to certify that all systems are good for the warranty company.

Which certifications should a certified RV service provider and/or inspection service have? That question is one of the reasons I haven't hired a particular service yet. One shows R.V.S.A. certified, another is ASE certified in four areas, and some inspection services show no certifications but they belong to several RV associations and/or say they have been in the RV industry for years.

Call the warranty company to get then to tell you what they would accept. An example, I had my used coach at Camping World for service when I talked to Wholesale Warranties about a contract. They said that they would accept an inspection done by them as a certified service provider.
