Low hot water pressure in kitchen

2007 Fleetwood Discovery. We have low hot water pressure. Any suggestions for what problem might be would be appreciated. No problems with cold water.

Low hot water pressure in kitchen

Hi, penny..... With the cold working, it sounds more like a flow problem than pressure.

If your cold is fine at all locations, and the hot restricted at all locations, I would start by looking for a flow blockage at or before the water heater. Water heater tanks need to be cleaned out periodically (annually) to get rid of sediment and minerals that may build up.

I just fixed the same problem on my 14 Fleetwood Bounder. The hot would flow at less than 50% of the cold. To get a comfortable shower temperature you only had to barely crack the cold side. I had heard a whirring, buzzing noise coming from the water heater area and the pump would also cycle on and off when the hot water was run. It didn't make the noise and the pump ran consistent when cold water was run. I removed the one way valve on the outlet of the hot water heater. The valve was not opening completely and causing the buzzing. (its the brass thingy between the pex tubing and the white braided water line.) The hot water now runs great! The only problem is that now when I go to winterize it, antifreeze will flow back into the water heater. Im either going to try and find a better quality valve that is perhaps adjustable or just replace the old valve when winterizing. I have an access door with hinges underneath the motorhome that gives good access to the water heater, I would suspect you might have the same. The door has a piano hinge and is held shut with 3 sheet metal screws. Look directly under your water heater. Wish I would have done this two years ago!
