LP Gas detector question

I have a Safe T Alert Lp gas detector. The LP is turned off and there is no smell of gas. The coach is not plugged in to a power sorce and hasn't been moved in 2 weeks. But today the Lp detector showed a steady red light and sounded an alarm.. As soon as I plugged into the land line, the alarm stopped but the light is still red. Is this a malfunction? ? We bought this (2005 Winnebago journey 36g) do I don't have the manual...

Thanks
Jerry

My new Safety Alert gas/CO detector has a end of life alarm. Maybe that's what yours is telling you.

Try their web site, you may be able to download the manual.

Thanks for the help. It turned out to be the end of the life of the detector... Replaced it and it's working just fine.

Just replace it! I understand that they are only good for 5 years!

I picked one off the shelf at CW, old stock 18 months into it's lifespan, don't know if their internal clock does anything before installation, but dug around till I found one that was only 3 months old.
