Lp generator storage ?

I have a lp gen set and I was wondering if I should close the propane valve while generator is running to burn excess propane out of the line. Or if it made any difference having propane in the carburetor for winter storage

Forty1974,

LP is easily displaced by air and that is what takes place, in days, after you shut it off. Never leave LP tank on while in storage for fear of leakage and ignition potential.

Propane wouldn't sit in the carb, it would stop at the gas valve once the gen was shut down.

But yes you can.
