LR/Kitchen layout - pet peeve

I'm not always the best at keeping my coach kitchen/dinette tidy & having it out in the open all the time where guests can see my messy-ness bothers me. I wish the dining area could be more separated from the living area in a coach.

It'd be nice if mfr's bring back this floorplan where the dining area is separated by the TV & the kitchen counter area is tucked back farther, past the fridge (07 Gulfstream)

For me, it's a challenge. Plus, I just don't like having my kitchen viewable from my living area. I don't like open floorplans in S&B's either.

Ahhh... the eternal search for the perfect floorplan....all within the confines of less than 400 sq ft. I hear what your saying but it seems to me that every floorplan ever made has some kind of compromise, even if it's ever so slight.

For me, the floorplan you posted would be terrible for us because we enjoy movie night and a "must have" for us is a straight view to the TV for the two of us.

But, to each their own and it's great when you can find the floorplan that incorporates at least your highest priorities. Thankfully, I think we finally got there.

cheers,
Joopy

Look at Thor's Challenger KT line. It has the floorplan you want. We love it and agree, more MHs should be designed that way.

Thanks, Shell. If they'd just put that in a Tuscany or Venetian, I'd be interested. Our next one will be a DP.

I agree and we searched until we found a gently used Tuscany 4055. We love the layout ..I especially like having my kitchen/dining separated as I sometimes have to use my dining room as an office. It's also very nice when the grandchildren or guests are with us as I can get up in the morning and start getting my breakfast prepared without much disturbance.

Ah ha!, so they DID make a DP w/that floor plan at one time...& in that perfect compromise length that's not too short/not too long! I'd toss out the driver's side couch & put in 2 swivel LZB's, though, to make it easier to view the mid-ship TV, but that's exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm gonna suggest that floor plan to the mfrs. 1st one that puts one in their DP line up gets my business!

Oh & on the subject of TV's, why do they have to put 55" or 60" TV's where you're sitting less than 8ft away from it. Bigger is not always better, IMO.

Yes, but those college bowl games sure are nice on a 55" especially just opposite from two recliners. A nice surround sound helps to enjoy it even more!

I guess if I'm on a roll of asking for stuff they used to have back, I want the tub/shower combo too. Like the ones they put in 1990's coaches. Showers only are fine & all, but sometimes I still want a bubble bath & I'm small enough to fit in those they used to have in coaches.

Most large class a mohos are built around a big refrigerator now. We spend the most time inside in a recliner talking or watching tv while enjoying the view out the windshield. Our wish is to have a useable living room without a gleaming stainless steel elephant in the room.
